The next generation in-memory analytic database that just work
Exasol is the high-performance, in-memory MPP database specifically designed for analytics. From business-critical data applications to advanced analytics, Exasol helps you analyze large volumes of data faster than ever before, helping you to accelerate your BI and reporting, and to turn data into value.
With Exasol, you benefit from high performance analytics in order to improve operational efficiencies, drive business growth, improve customer acquisition rates and deliver excellent customer service – whatever the data source, whatever the environment, whatever the analytic programming language.
The more complex and sophisticated the data analysis, the
greater the advantage with Exasol. This is proven by our continued leadership in the independently audited TPC-H benchmarks, the industry reference for analytic database systems when it comes to performance as well as price/ performance.
In fact, Exasol remains in the top position for all data volumes – from 100GB right up to 100TB – setting the industry-standard for analytics processing performance.
Exasol has always focused on delivering ultra-fast, massively scalable analytic performance. Exasol combines in-memory, columnar storage and massively parallel processing technologies to provide unrivalled performance, flexibility and scalability.
The database is tuning-free and therefore the ideal solution for reducing total cost of ownership while enabling you to concentrate on your business and swiftly solve analytical tasks instead of having to cope with technical limits and constraints.
Exasol can be easily integrated into every IT infrastructure. It is SQL-compliant, is compatible with leading ETL and BI products such as Yellowfin, Alteryx, Tableau, MicroStrategy, Birst, IBM Cognos, SAP BusinessObjects, Informatica, Talend and Pentaho, and provides the most flexible Hadoop connector on the market. Furthermore, through an extensive data virtualization and integration framework, you can now analyze data from more sources more easily and faster than ever before.
As a data warehouse and analytics engine, either standalone or integrated with Hadoop, Exasol is used in a wide range of big data and analytics use cases, including accelerating BI reporting, running multi-user ad-hoc analytics, and performing complex modelling using predictive in-database analytics.
The TPC is a non-profit corporation founded to define transaction processing and database benchmarks and to help give objective, verifiable TPC performance data to the industry. By running the same unbiased scripts you can compare database vendor– and you can often see how well the same database runs on different hardware. Over the years, there have been over 220 recorded TPC-H benchmarks. Many database vendors have posted results on a vast range of hardware and at various scale factors up to 100TB.
For the past 11 years our analytics database has maintained its TPC-H benchmark position as the undisputed leader – by a significant margin – for both raw performance and price-performance.
The latest benchmark (2019) was completed on two categories, 3 Terabytes (TB) and 10 TB. The price per performance results are $0.07 for 3TB and $0.10 for 10TB, which are a significant reduction from the 2014 benchmark which scored at $0.15 and $0.17 respectively.
These results demonstrate our speed, scalability and cost/performance which have consistently dominated the TPC-H benchmarks since 2008.
The latest results were achieved with Exasol 6.2 running on a Dell PowerEdge R6415 cluster with the AMD EPYC™ 7551P processor.
